PROFILE OF ALHAJI DALHATU MOMOH SAKI (DALHATU SHERIFF)Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki was born in 1979 in Bariki Ward of Okene, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State to the family of Late Alhaji Momoh Saki and Hajia Habibat Saki. He is from a typical polygamous family. He has many siblings. His mother is the second of his father’s wives. Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki started his early education in 1985 in the famous St. John Primary School, Agassa in Okene LGA. In 1991 he enrolled for his College education in Anyava Community Secondary School, Anyava, Agassa-Okene. His zeal for qualitative education saw him change school and he later concluded his secondary education at the Okene Secondary School, Okene, where he sat for his SSCE Exams in 1997.

Vote Alhaji Momoh Dalhatu Sheriff for kogi central senatorial District

He came out with flying colours. Applying the entrepreneurial skills inherited from his enterprising parents, Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki mastered the art of trading and had a financial breakthrough at a very tender age by going into business immediately after his secondary education. In 1999, after a long sojourn in the business world, with his quest for continuous education, he then proceeded to the University of Abuja, Abuja to study Political Science, where he graduated with Bachelor Degree in Political Science. His investments portfolio cut across the Real Estate Development, Quarry, Communication and General Contracting. His business/investment prowess in these sectors have helped facilitate gainful employment opportunities for a number of unemployed graduates and youths particularly Kogi State indigenes. Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki can also be considered a philanthropist per excellence. He currently sponsors hundreds of Kogi State undergraduates in various higher institutions within and outside the country. His strong drive for community development has inspired him to invest in various community projects over the years. He loves traveling and meeting people.

Amongst his businesses and investments include: Sheriff Combined Business established initially as enterprise in 1998 and later registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Limited Company in 2007; SIL Estate Nigeria Limited established in 2009; SIL Quarry Nigeria Limited (WA) established also in 2009; Final Touch Paint established in 2010; ADS Communications, established in 2013; and then Clifturn Host & Investment established in 2008.

Our land is backward. Our youths are not progressing. The reason is not farfetched; our representative at the upper chamber of the National Assembly has failed us. Constituency allowance are given to members to develop their constituency and constituents, we have not seen and felt the impact of such in Kogi Central. Our roads are bad, no clean water for our people. The youths are not empowered and thereby, staying idle makes them easily influenced for ill vices.

Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Sheriff and Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello (executive Governor of Kogi State)

Kogi Central should ordinarily be the most developed Senatorial District in Kogi State considering the vast human and natural resources and its enviable location in the state as the Centre. It is however sad to know that Ebiraland is the least developed Senatorial District in the Kogi State, due to bad leadership and bad representation at the National Level. It is sad that, the Senatorial District have been over time labeled with bad names, littered with bad roads, dilapidated schools with very low educational standards, moribund health facilities, lack of infrastructural development, dirty and stinking environments, huge unemployment rate with high crime rates etc. Ebiraland is in dire need of an honest, dynamic and purposeful Senatorial Representative that can lure investments into the land, move the land from its present pitiable condition to an enviable position it deserves. It is in the light of this, that Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki is offering to serve his people as the next Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki can be totalled up in one sentence, he is a young man with vision, capacity, enviable character and ready to serve his land, Ebiraland and Kogi State in general.

He drew his philosphy of leadership and representation from Alan Siegel, who once affirmed in his famous quote that, ‘‘Representative government demands an ongoing conversation between legislators and constituents.’’ Also, Edmund Burke sufficed that, ‘‘when leaders choose to make themselves bidders at an auction of popularity, their talent, in the construction of the state, will be of no service. They will become flatters instead of legislators; the instruments, not the guides, of the people.’’

Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Sheriff Saki Kogi State APC Senatorial Aspirant

What do we want our legislators of the 21st century to be, of course we want them to be effective, to be good. Of course we know there will be challenges, which is to remain true to the fundamental purpose of representative democracy and legislative system.

What is the harm of doing the right thing? What is the harm of doing their job as legislators and making sure that their constituents do not suffer? We are sure Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff will direct his attention above all to the education and empowerment of the youth; the neglect of education and the youths do harm to the constitution. Let’s support Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki for the race of Kogi State central Senatorial District.

What Atiku must do to become our candidate — PDP BOT Chairman

His excellency Atiku Abubakar former vice president Federal Republic of Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party has urged Atiku Abubakar to be ready to play by the rules once he rejoins the party in the coming days.Mr. Atiku dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress Friday morning. There are strong indications of his imminent arrival at the major opposition party.

Walid Jibrin, the chairman the PDP Board of Trustees, briefly touched on Mr. Atiku’s political future during an interview witn PREMIUM TIMES Sunday night.

Mr. Jibrin, a former senator from Nasarawa State, said the PDP field of presidential contenders has expanded in recent weeks, and Mr. Abubakar should expect a rigorous competition for the party’s ticket.

He said the PDP is expecting him, but first, the former former vice-president “must subject himself to all the constitutional instruments of the party” if he “really wants to be president” by 2019, Mr. Jibrin told PREMIUM TIMES by telephone.

He said most of the presidential hopefuls that have expressed their intention since the party ‘zoned’ its presidential ticket to the north are political heavyweights.

All our candidates are very strong and the former vice-president is going to meet some interesting challengers, Mr. Jibrin added.

Sule Lamido and Ibrahim Shekarau are amongst those who have commenced 2019 consultations in recent weeks on the platform of the PDP.

Mr. Abubakar is expected to join the party at his ward in his home state of Adamawa in the coming days, a source close to the former vice president told PREMIUM TIMES Sunday night.

His registration would be in time for his participation at the party’s national convention scheduled for December 9 in Abuja, PREMIUM TIMES learnt.

Members are also expected to elect a substantive chairman for the party at the convention. Mr. Jibrin told PREMIUM TIMES he won’t back three of the eight chairmanship candidates who are members of the BOT.

“As leaders of the party, we’re supposed to play down on our personal political ambitions,” the PDP chieftain said.

Tunde Adeniran, Bode George and Uche Secondus are members of the PDP Board of Trustees, which has long been dubbed the conscience of the party. Narrated according to Samuel Ogundipe of premium times news paper.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s action against herdsmen

President Muhammadu Buhari

The President said he is doing his best to ensure the killer-herdsmen are brought to book, adding that it is unfair for Nigerians to think that he just sits in an air-conditioned office and watch the killings go on.Buhari has been accused of being lackadaisical in handling the herdsmen crisis, which has so far claimed over 100 lives.

The President was also criticised for failing to visit Benue » , where over 70 persons were massacred by the herdsmen.

Speaking when he received some Catholic bishops at the presidential villa in Abuja on Thursday, February 8, 2018, President Buhari condemned the killings in Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, and Zamfara states.

He also assured that security operatives will ensure prosecution of perpetrators and all those found with illegal arms in the affected areas.

He said, “The impression created that I was sitting in an air-conditioned office and home, enjoying myself while these things happened, is dishonest.

“At every step, I have tried to foresee these problems because I have the experience as a former military officer who commanded three out of the four divisions of the Nigerian army, in Lagos, Ibadan and Jos.

“I am quite aware of the problems we have and I am doing my best to get law enforcement agencies to be on alert.”

The President also clarified the controversial ‘grazing colony’ policy of the Federal Government aimed at resolving the herdsmen crisis, saying that it is not meant to colonise any part of the country.

He said the intention of government is to create grazing locations for cattle rearers, which has now been “misconstrued as another form of colonization” .

The President promised the Catholic Bishops that the government will continue to explore all opportunities and support initiatives to ensure peace and stability in restive areas.
