Our land is backward. Our youths are not progressing. The reason is not farfetched; our representative at the upper chamber of the National Assembly has failed us. Constituency allowance are given to members to develop their constituency and constituents, we have not seen and felt the impact of such in Kogi Central. Our roads are bad, no clean water for our people. The youths are not empowered and thereby, staying idle makes them easily influenced for ill vices.
Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Sheriff and Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello (executive Governor of Kogi State)
Kogi Central should ordinarily be the most developed Senatorial District in Kogi State considering the vast human and natural resources and its enviable location in the state as the Centre. It is however sad to know that Ebiraland is the least developed Senatorial District in the Kogi State, due to bad leadership and bad representation at the National Level. It is sad that, the Senatorial District have been over time labeled with bad names, littered with bad roads, dilapidated schools with very low educational standards, moribund health facilities, lack of infrastructural development, dirty and stinking environments, huge unemployment rate with high crime rates etc. Ebiraland is in dire need of an honest, dynamic and purposeful Senatorial Representative that can lure investments into the land, move the land from its present pitiable condition to an enviable position it deserves. It is in the light of this, that Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki is offering to serve his people as the next Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki can be totalled up in one sentence, he is a young man with vision, capacity, enviable character and ready to serve his land, Ebiraland and Kogi State in general.
He drew his philosphy of leadership and representation from Alan Siegel, who once affirmed in his famous quote that, ‘‘Representative government demands an ongoing conversation between legislators and constituents.’’ Also, Edmund Burke sufficed that, ‘‘when leaders choose to make themselves bidders at an auction of popularity, their talent, in the construction of the state, will be of no service. They will become flatters instead of legislators; the instruments, not the guides, of the people.’’
Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Sheriff Saki Kogi State APC Senatorial Aspirant
What do we want our legislators of the 21st century to be, of course we want them to be effective, to be good. Of course we know there will be challenges, which is to remain true to the fundamental purpose of representative democracy and legislative system.
What is the harm of doing the right thing? What is the harm of doing their job as legislators and making sure that their constituents do not suffer? We are sure Alhaji Dalhatu Sheriff will direct his attention above all to the education and empowerment of the youth; the neglect of education and the youths do harm to the constitution. Let’s support Alhaji Dalhatu Momoh Saki for the race of Kogi State central Senatorial District.
